Charles Maher - Partner
Charles qualified as a Solicitor in 1983 and has been a partner with Marsden Rawsthorn since 1987 and chief executive since 2007. He has practised in both private and commercial litigation throughout his career with a particular interest in the areas of personal injury and insolvency work.

Jane Ashworth-Wilson - Partner

Jane has over 20 years experience as a litigator and has built up a specialism in the resolution of disputes concerning land and property; to include easements, covenants, management of property, business lease renewals, the terms of a lease, and residential landlord and tenant.
Jane's clients include Land owners and agents, Leaseholder and Lessors, Landlords and Tenants.
In her spare time Jane enjoys spending time with her family.

Paul Ridehalgh - Partner
Paul has over 20 years experience since qualification and has a broad depth of knowledge in many areas of law. For the last 15 years Paul has specialised in dispute resolution and in particular commercial litigation.
He has a keen interest in ADR(Alternative Dispute Resolution), case funding and insurance, allowing clients to pursue cases and reduce risk.
Paul's outside interests centre mainly on sport and travel together with a an unhealthy interest in fine food.

Karl Wilson - Partner
Karl has over 19 years experience as a solicitor after graduating from Hull University. He has worked in law firms in Manchester, Sydney Australia and Preston and has been a partner at Marsden Rawsthorn since 2001. Specialising in resolving all types of disputes involving individuals, sole traders, partnerships and companies, with experience also in representing national communications companies and central government departments.
Karl's achievements outside of the office include climbing at high altitude in the Himalayas and qualified as a scuba diver on the Great Barrier Reef. Other pastimes include weekly five-a-side football and the company of a fine acoustic guitar.

Stephen Topping - Partner
Stephen has been with Marsden Rawsthorn since 2002 having joined the firm from a Manchester city centre practice. Prior to private practice, Stephen worked 'in house' and headed the legal team of a telecommunications company. His commercial background leads Stephen to focus on obtaining cost effective solutions to legal disputes.
Whilst Stephen deals with the full spectrum of commercial litigation, he has areas of specialism focussing on intellectual property, contract, land and boundary issues, shareholder disputes and professional negligence. He has a particular interest in issues concerning rural businesses and acts for a number of clients in the equestrian service industry.

John Hardwick - Consultant and Practice Manager
John was the founder and Partner in Hardwicks based in Chorley and merged with Marsden Rawsthorn in 2007. John specialises in criminal and matrimonial law and is now a Consultant and Practice Manager for our Chorley branch.
A keen walker, John also enjoys all kinds of sports and gardening.

Paul Margey-Partner

Paul qualified as a Solicitor in 1990 after graduating from Middlesex Polytechnic. Was a partner with John Hardwick in the firm of Hardwicks prior to the merger with Marsden Rawsthorn in 2008.
Specialises in criminal law, probate and personal injury.
Away from the office, likes reading, listening to music and enjoys watching football.

Laura Hallett - Solicitor
Laura graduated after studying her LLB in 2004 and joined Marsden Rawsthorn in 2007 as a trainee solicitor and qualified in 2010. She currently supports all the partners within the dispute resolution team on a number of litigation matters.
In her free time Laura is training for Race for Life and enjoys walking and running.

Kim Seward - Trainee Legal Executive

Kim joined Marsden Rawsthorn in 2007 and is currently studying for ILEX specialising in Civil Litigation. After studying for her Law Degree at the University of Wales, Kim transferred to University of Central Lancashire and graduated in 2004.
Kim also has a passion for music and is currently the lead singer with a local Preston band.
