This week is Dementia Action Week and we have lots going on to support Alzheimer’s Society and those affected by dementia.
Research predicts that one in three of us will be affected by dementia – which is often described by medical professionals as the biggest health crisis of our time.
It’s important to remember that dementia can affect people of all ages – it’s not just something that affects older people.
Dementia Friend training
We are taking part in a Dementia Friend training session at our Faraday office, where we will be learning more about the condition and tips on how to support those living with it.
Our attendees will receive a badge and certificate, allowing them to train others on dementia awareness.
Forget-me-nots
We have also been set a challenge to sell 100 of the Alzheimer’s Society special forget-me-not pin badges.
The small blue flower is the perfect way to resemble remembrance and has long been associated with dementia.
The light blue pin is worn to promote awareness of dementia but also in memory of or in tribute to a loved ones.
Our blue metal flower pin is a symbol for anyone who wants to raise awareness of dementia and support people affected by the condition.
These are £1 each and are on sale at our Faraday office.
