Leading Preston and Chorley-based law firm, Marsden Rawsthorn, has expanded its commercial property team with the appointment of a new partner.

Joanne Wilcox joins from Goodman Harvey in Manchester, bolstering the firm’s commercial property team in the Preston office. In her previous role, Joanne dealt with general commercial property transactions as well as offering advice to clients looking to obtain grant funding agreements for the development of urban development and enterprise zone schemes.

Graduating with LLB (Hons) from the University of Huddersfield in 2002, she went on to obtain a postgraduate diploma in Legal Practice from the University of Central Lancashire two years later.
Joanne has over 10 years’ experience gained at Warrington-based Forshaws Davies Ridgway, DWF, Sefton Borough Council and Goodman Harvey.

Joanne said: “I am delighted to be joining the commercial property team at Marsden Rawsthorn. "Although the commercial property market remains challenging, Marsden Rawsthorn is enjoying relative success as existing clients look to take advantage of quick acquisitions."

"The firm has an excellent reputation in the region, and I am looking forward to the opportunities that lie ahead." Stephen Hodgson, head of commercial property at Marsden Rawsthorn, added: "Joanne brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to our team, having worked in both in-house and full-service practice roles. This will undoubtedly be an asset to Marsden Rawsthorn as we continue to provide clients with quality legal advice backed up with excellent customer service."
