  • Sad loss of one of our PartnersSad loss of one of our Partners

    Gawen Ryan, one of our senior partners at our Chorley office, passed away suddenly on the 15th December 2009.Gawen provided outstanding service to the firm and will be very sadly missed.Our thoughts are with all his family and friends at this sad time.

    There will be a celebratory Mass for Gawen at St. Peter and Paul's Church in Mawdesley on Monday 21st December 2009 at 12.30pm followed by refreshments at Croston Sports and Social Club.

    Gawen's family have requested no flowers but anyone wishing to could make a donation to the British Heart Foundation c/o Walter Craven Funerals Limited, Craven Lodge, Broadgreen Road, Liverpool L13 5SG.

Michael has been in the legal profession since leaving school in 1966 and joins us from AD Varley in Blackburn. He qualified as a Probate Executive in 1982 and as a Licensed Conveyancer in 1986. He specialises in Probate Intestacy and Wills, Residential Conveyancing and some Commercial..

    A family man with grandchildren, Michael enjoys taking part in different sports, enjoys dining, the countryside and the coast, not to mention being a life long supporter of the red devils.

    Marsden Rawsthorn have been awarded Downtown Preston "Best New Business" Award 2009. This is great recognition of the commitment and efforts of the whole team which has contributed to the growth of the firm since its merger and relocation over 12 months ago.

    The award coincides with a series of top level changes as it gears up for major growth. The firm, which was created just over a year ago following one of the biggest mergers in the region's legal history is now putting plans in place to take it to "another level", according to new CEO Stephen Hodgson. He replaces Charles Maher who has stepped down from the post after five years following the successful merger and relocation to Fulwood.
