    Employment law specialist and former Marine James Bellamy has joined leading Lancashire Law Firm Marsden Rawsthorn to head up its Employment Law Department.

    Lancashire born James spent 5 years in the Marines, which included a Tour of Duty in Northern Ireland and 6 months on the amphibious helicopter carrier HMS Ocean, before training as a Solicitor. Prior to joining Marsden Rawsthorn he was with East Lancashire firm Roebucks and latterly Taylors of Blackburn, where he specialised in Employment Law.

    James commented "Employment law is fast moving and constantly changing. My mission is to ensure that clients see the commercial benefits of employment best practice as well as avoiding the pitfalls. I was impressed with Marsden Rawsthorn's excellent systems and processes, which allow their legal practitioners to concentrate on what they do best - giving client s the best possible legal advice.     We are delighted to announce that Sahida Ahmed has been promoted to Partner from the 1st May 2010. Sahida joined Marsden Rawsthorn in 2003 and specialises in all aspects of family law with a particular focus on financial settlements in divorce, including family businesses, and other practice areas relating to domestic violence, cohabitation disputes and both Private Law and Public Law Children disputes. She is on the management committee for the Preston Women's Refuge and is also on the local Resolution Committee.

    We are delighted that Michael Johnson has joined our Private Client team based in Fulwood. Michael has been in the legal profession since leaving school in 1966 and joins us from AD Varley in Blackburn. He qualified as a Probate Executive in 1982 and as a Licensed Conveyancer in 1986. He specialises in Probate Intestacy and Wills, Residential Conveyancing and some Commercial..

    A family man with grandchildren, Michael enjoys taking part in different sports, enjoys dining, the countryside and the coast, not to mention being a life long supporter of the red devils.
