We are delighted to have our first three solicitor apprentices on board.
Ciara Maloney, Sophie Aspinall and Ellie Cliffe were already employees of the firm who successfully applied for the solicitor apprenticeship.
They were identified by us as talented future lawyers.
New solicitor apprentices
Solicitor apprenticeships are a new route to qualifying as a solicitor. The traditional route of the Legal Practice Course and a two-year training contract is being phased out.
University of Law
We are working with the University of Law (“ULaw”) to offer the Solicitor Apprenticeships.
ULaw is one of the UK’s leading providers of legal education and training and has trained more legal professionals at different stages of their careers than anybody else.
The legal sector is changing rapidly and the need for rigorous, relevant and business-focused legal education and training has never been greater.
Training partner
We couldn’t have chosen a better training provider partner than ULaw to train our apprentices and support them alongside us throughout their journey to qualification.
ULaw delivers Level 7 Solicitor Apprenticeships for those starting the route to qualification after their A-Levels.
The Solicitor Graduate Apprenticeship is for those starting after obtaining a degree.
Ciara and Sophie already have university degrees and will train through their apprenticeship for 2 1/2 years.
Ellie who obtained her A-Levels last year will train with us for 6 years and will obtain a degree as part of her apprenticeship.
Law apprenticeship schemes offer apprentices many essential skills, including negotiation and communication with internal stakeholders and clients.
They will research cases, conduct interviews and advise clients.
Our solicitor apprentices will develop their wider business skills as well as legal and job-specific knowledge.
We wish Ciara, Sophie and Ellie all the very best on their paths to qualification and look forward to watching them develop into newly qualified solicitors
